Here comes the water tank

Spilling cool water as it rolls

Grabs the attention of the dog

Laying in the sweltering sun

There goes the thirsty dog

Chasing the slow, heavy tank

Savouring every drop it splashed

Revitalising himself with every sip

Here is the rejuvenated dog

Thirsty no more and full of energy

But it still chases the tank

Not really knowing why; or maybe it did

There in the parched land

Stops the tank

Humans swarm to refill

And now spent and light, rolls away quick

Here is the greedy dog

Dry, thirsty and tired

It chased the tank too far

And became marooned in a land of drought.
